Behavior Issues - How To Stop Bad Behavior

If you have been training your dog to do basic or even advanced commands, but he still misbehaves, you will need to learn how to fix the problems before they spin out of control.

Chewing

These bad behaviors include chewing, digging, barking, jumping up, chasing, begging, and biting. Your dog doesn't perform these bad behaviors to make you mad - he just doesn't know that they are bad until you teach him!

Quite a large number of dog owners do not take action or the initiative to correct these bad behaviors. They usually end up giving up hope on their dog and send them to a shelter. This can be avoided with the proper training.

Aggression is one of the hardest topics to cover when dog training. I have very little information that I can give you, but I'll give you what I got. Dogs are descendants of the wolf, they communicate by biting, growling, showing teeth, and snarling. This is perfectly normal though. Among humans, this behavior is DEFINITELY not acceptable.

Usually, humans are the cause of a dogs aggression. Often, when playing with a dog, a child will get overly excited, and start hugging the dog. Aggression from the dog could occur after getting squeezed too hard by the little kid, or even teased. This is seen as a threat, so they will strike back. A dog could also start to believe that he is not below everyone, and will start to try to act like he should be getting the respect of a small child. When he doesn't receive it, he will show aggression towards small children as to show the owner and guests that he is better than them.
